I have a long career in the world of IT solutions. I have held various positions from programmer to project manager, going through solutions analyst & designer, sales technical support and consultant. And recently, entrepreneur.

I have never played a “pure” role, because when working with small teams (les than 10 people), transversality is somehow mandatory. In recent years (10+) my main position has been that of project manager or team leader, although always closely linked to the technical and analysis-design area.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Entrepreneur (5+): Whatever it takes… and bureaucracy.
• Project Manager (10+): Project planning, Apply collaboration methodologies, Kickoff meetings, Follow-up meetings, Report to client, Tracking project dates, Tracking deliverables, Resource allocation, Deployment strategy, Post analysis and lessons learned, Transition from development to operations, SLA support agreements, Quote for functionality extensions.
• Sales technical support (15+): Bidding processes, Analysis of requirements, Solution high-level design and presentation to the client, Economic estimate of the project for development deployment and support.
• Team Leader (15+): Detailed assignment of tasks, Periodic meetings, Problem resolution, Follow-up of integrated and performance tests, Review of documentation and code quality, System deployment review (live and test environments).
• Analyst & Designer (15+): Taking requirements with the client, Negotiation of scope of functionality, Collect information from interfaces with other systems, Design of the solution including platform and technology as well as modules, databases, internal and external interfaces and access APIs. Written agreement with the client, Internal detailed design document for developers. Benchmark estimations for large number of transactions, Backwards compatibility and ensure always-on systems.
• Programmer (15+) : Software development, Unitary tests, Integration tests, Performance tests.
• Systems support 3rd level (10+): Log analysis, Workaround solution for critical systems recovery and stabilization, Reproduction of the problem in the test environment, Final solution and patch design.
